That Dang Month is Over

Walking along west side of Central Park

Friends!  I failed to take a moment last week to commemorate our collective success in making it through the previous month.  Mopey, moody January has come and gone, and we broke on through to the other side!  Congrats to us all.

February will no doubt bring its own challenges (I'll spell out mine in a future post) but for now I'm just thankful to be on this side of January.

In honor of our victory over the calendar, I'm dedicating a song to us: Peter, Paul and Mary's "The Great Storm is Over" (they didn't write it, but they did rock it).  I couldn't find the video, though (YouTube fail) so you'll have to settle for excerpted lyrics.  (If you know the tune, hum along)

My life rolls on in endless song
Above earth’s lamentations
I hear the real though far-off hymn
That hails the new creation
Above the tumult and the strife
I hear it’s music ringin’
It sounds an echo in my soul
How can I keep from singin’?

Alleliuah the great storm is over
Lift up your wings and fly
Alleliuah the great storm is over
Lift up your wings and fly

To further celebrate, let's all eat cake.  Just a thought.
